“Boruto: The Next Generation” follows Sasuke as he goes undercover for an investigation.
At Jump Festa ’23, an anime and manga festival that takes place in Japan every year, it was revealed that the anime adaptation of “Boruto: Next Generation” would be delving into the stories focusing on Sasuke, known as the “Sasuke Retsuden” arc. The “Sasuke Retsuden” arc will be based on the spin-off manga series, “Naruto: Sasuke’s Story – The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust”, and the first episode premiered on January 8th.
Shingo Kimura, who launched the manga adaptation of the story novel in October, and MANGA PLUS, who began publishing the manga in English, describe the story as:
“Uchiha Sasuke heads for an astronomical observatory, far from the Land of Fire. There, he syncs up with Sakura, and together they dive into an undercover investigation in search of traces of the Sage of Six Paths! The two are soon drawn into a deadly conspiracy! The popular spin-off novel, now as a manga series!”
Fans have been conflicted with the premier of the show, which included a scene of Sasuke fighting a dinosaur and a scene where suddenly Sasuke has both of his arms. Spoiler: Fans will remember that Sasuke and Naruto had each lost one arm in their final fight of “Naruto: Shippuden”, and while Naruto did use the Hashirama cells to have a new arm created for him, Sasuke turned it down. Fans are hoping this little error in the show may have some explanation, which is keeping them on the edge of their seats as they wait for the next episode.
