Restaurants to Make You Feel Like You’re in an Anime – Seattle – Jae’s Lunchbox

Bellevue Crossroads is one of my favorite shopping centers, both for the variety of fun stores to walk around but also all the awesome eating options. One of my must stop locations is Jae’s Lunchbox, a Grab’N’Go concept restaurant that opened up just this last fall! It’s located in Bellevue, WA, just 20 minutes east of Seattle.

Jae’s Lunchbox has the sweetest atmosphere, with brightly colored interior and a really cool variety of anime artwork on the walls! If it’s raining outside and you’d like to eat in, grab a seat at the bar style wall tables and kick back.

One of the best parts?
If you’re on the more shy side like me, you can use the self-serve kiosk to make your order! It’s fast, easy, and the kind workers are more than happy to help if you do have any questions.

They offer a wide variety of delicious Japanese snacks and light meals.
Choose from 9 options of both meat and/or veggie Inari, a deep-fried and deliciously seasoned tofu pouch filled with whatever your heart desires!

Jae’s Lunchbox offers some raw sushi options: salmon, seared salmon, spicy seared salmon, tuna, scallop, and masago; as well as cooked imitation crab. Then, for the veggie options they have a sweet corn salad and light seaweed salad; they’re all only $2.99 each! So affordable, which really only makes it taste better.

Inari not your thing?
They also offer 8 flavors of onigiri (Japanese rice ball), 3 varieties of poke salad cups, bento box lunches of either unagi and tamago, or spam and tamago, and even instant ramen!

Need a drink?
Top it off with their extensive options of ramune, canned milk teas, sodas and more.

What’s my favorite thing to order there?
Definitely the individually wrapped, fresh fruit Japanese sandwiches. Holy cow these things are delicious.

The fruit is always so refreshing and perfectly sweet, pairing beautifully with the fluffy, light cream that’s packed into the sandwich. The shokupan, Japanese milk bread, is fluffy and moist, and all together is the perfect serving size for a snack, appetizer, or a late breakfast if you’re often on the go like I am. I always have to get the classic Strawberry sandwich, it’s seriously perfect.

Check out Jae’s Lunchbox and let us know what your favorite menu item is! Are there any other local Seattle restaurants you want us to check out? Let us know in the comments and we’ll be sure to recommend all the best and most delicious places to make you feel like you’re eating straight out of an anime.
