Mark your calendars! This February, Niantic is delivering us an in-person event in the greatest city in Nevada, Las Vegas!
Join fellow trainers from around the world on February 18th and 19th, at Sunset Park, for a special in-person event showcasing Pokémon from the Hoenn region! Early bird tickets can be purchased through the official website and are priced at $30 per day with special add-ons for raid lovers and egg enthusiasts for $15 each!
From what we know of both add-ons, raid lovers will receive up to 18 free raid passes by spinning gym photos, 5000 XP in raid bonuses, 3 extra candy xl, and 6 extra candy from pokemon in five-star raids. If you choose the path of egg-enthusiasts then you will receive a ¼ hatch distance bonus, with triple hatch xp, candy, and stardust. You will also have an increased chance of getting a 10km egg from PokeStops and Gyms.
As for the main event features and bonuses for those who will be in attendance in Las Vegas, ticket holders will have the opportunity to complete Surge Field Research to have encounters with Primal Groudon or Primal Kyogre! Trainers will also have increased chances of finding shiny Hoenn pokemon, and a special research task where trainers will team up for the first time ever with Team GO Rocket! Not only that you will be able to make up to 6 special trades, and 50% stardust cost for trades within the park.
Fear not! If you are unable to attend in person, there is still in-game content available for those who cannot attend and can play from the comfort of your own home.
During the event, all four forms of Deoxy will be available in five-star raids, and special Pokemon will appear in unique habits throughout the event. If you’re lucky enough, you might encounter one of their shiny forms!
As someone who frequents Sunset park for every Community Day, you are in for a treat! Not only will the weekend bring you special event bonuses, but you will be surrounded by PokeStops every single step you take! I’m not even kidding, you don’t even have to walk around the park’s pond to be engulfed in Pokémon! My favorite hangout is located at the back end of the pond where there are 5 PokeStops and a Gym all nestled together, you literally don’t have to move to find shinies most of the time. Not only that, it’s our very own Sunset Squads hangout too!
If a fun filled day of battling Pokémon isn’t enough, Lvl Up Expo is the same weekend! If you’re not familiar with this event, it is Las Vegas biggest anime and gaming convention, and just so happens to be celebrating its 10 year anniversary! So take a 20 minute drive from the park to the Las Vegas Convention Center and be immersed in panels, free-to-play arcade games, cosplays, artist alley, and more!
Whether you will be playing at home or in Vegas, it goes without saying that Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn is starting off with a bang, and we can’t wait to catch them all!
