That’s right! Tokyo Revengers is back for a second season diving into arc 3 of 7 from the manga (chapters 78 to 121). January 7th on Hulu, season two will follow the Christmas Showdown Arc where the Tokyo Manji gang will face new foes known as the Black Dragons. Season two is also supposed to take a deeper dive into the Shiba family, exploring the complicated relationships between siblings Hakkai, Yuzuha, and Black Dragons leader, Taiju Shiba.
If you are new to the Tokyo Revengers franchise, here is a brief overview of what you missed! Tokyo Revengers follows the life of down in the dumps, 26 year old virgin, Takemichi Hanagaki. He recently discovers the only girlfriend he’s ever had from middle school was killed by the Tokyo Manji Gang. The very same day, while standing at the train station platform, Takemichi is shoved onto the tracks and bracing for the impending doom as a train barrels down on him. He instinctively shuts his eyes and when he reopens them is transported back in time 12 years earlier. Now that Takemichi has been thrust back into the best years of his life with a chance to change it for the better, he will do anything to save his former girlfriend Hinata and to save them all!
Since the first episode of the season aired on the 7th, the series has announced there will be 13 episodes in total. Though shorter than season one’s 24 episodes, we cannot wait to see what changes unfold in the future while Takamichi takes matters into his own hands in the past!
