Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Season 3 – Swordsmith Village Arc.
I don’t know about you, but just the title sends shivers down my spine. From the moment this series has entered the arena, every episode and every season has been action packed. The new season focuses on the Swordsmith Village Arc, which is where we will get to see more of the Hashira (and more of Haganezuka, the swordsmith we all know and love)!
Season 3 is expected to be released in April 2023. Ufotable is animating DS again, so you just know they’ll kill it with the visuals and exceed expectations as always. They definitely know what we want, because the anime will start with a mind blowing 1 hour special. If you’re a manga reader, this season will pick up right around volume 12 (chapters 98 – 102). If you’re a Demon Slayer fan and want to catch up on the previous season, make sure to catch all episodes streaming on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, and Netflix!

World Tour confirmed!!! Seriously, does that trailer not get you hyped?! Press play and immediately Tanjiro pops up onto the screen, mid-attack using a Water Breathing technique which transitions into a Sun Breathing technique. Swiftly following are Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and several Hashira – each of them staring directly into your soul while in the midst of battle.
The words ‘Promotion Reel 2023’ flash before your eyes as a movie reel unfurls, one side depicting scenes from the anime and the other side covered with the checkered pattern of Tanjiro’s haori. This is where the timeline starts; the reel zooms closer for you to see significant scenes from Season 1 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc, April 2019.
At this reel ends, it splits into two separate reels for the next arc – TV Anime: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train Arc, October 2021 and Movie: Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, April 2021.
Next up is Demon Slayer, Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc, December 2021. One side of the reel is a beautiful floral kimono pattern while images of Demon Nezuko, Daki, Gyutaro, and Tengen transition into a snippet of their iconic battle. At the height of their combined slashes, your view pulls away from where this reel ends and the next begins to take you down the blade of a sword; a brief conversation takes you through a canyon and the words “To a New Mission” come into sight.
The first true glimpse of the action to come is shown with the introduction of Muichiro Tokito: the Mist Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji: the Love Hashira, Genya: Demon Slayer Corps, Tanjiro Kamado: Demon Slayer Corps, and Nezuko Kamada: Little Sister-Turned-Demon. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Swordsmith Village Arc takes up your screen, followed by an empty reel and the words ‘Coming April 2023’. While this feels so far away, the producers lift our spirits with the announcement that Episode 1 is a ONE HOUR SPECIAL.
The reels from the Entertainment Arc and Swordsmith Village Arc are tossed into the air, twirling around each other as majestically as Tanjiro’s father performing the Dance of the Fire God and wrapping around each other into a ball that transforms into a globe. With Earth in sight, and different scenes from what we’ve seen thus far revolving like the rings of Saturn, we’re given a message: To fans all over the world that support Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. With gratitude, World Tour Confirmed.
A special screening! Entertainment District Arc, Episode 10: Never Give Up and Episode 11: No Matter How Many Lives are announced, with scenes of a very special, very dangerous pair of siblings playing in the background. They fade into darkness and Episode 1 of the Swordsmith Village Arc is announced, with Kibutsuji Muzan’s voice echoing as his toxic, beautiful face emerges. The upper rank demons assemble as Muzan expresses his wish of annihilating the Demon Slayer Corps. Coming to theaters March 2023, in over 80 countries and regions, the world tour will begin. Dates for the premieres are provided (full details listed below, of course), and if you’re in the US & Canada, mark your calendars for March 3rd! This is when it will be in theaters, both subbed and dubbed.
